Adam Kane

Formerly the Chief Biogeneticist at Genomex, Adam now acts as the leader of Mutant X.

Background

Adam Kane was formerly the Chief Biogeneticist at Genomex, brought in by his mentor and friend, Paul Breedlove. His research was used to formulate the methods which produced New Mutants. He also contributed extensive knowledge to the company through other inventions (subdermal governors, stasis pods, Subject 1.0 [Gabriel Ashlocke], Section Nine, etc...).
Racked by guilt at what his research and intelligence had caused, Adam quit Genomex, and devoted his time to aided the victims of Genomex's experiments, a breed of humans known as 'New Mutants'. Having made a substantial amount of money while working at Genomex, Adam founded and oversaw the creation of a "Mutant Underground', a system to aid New Mutants who were being pursued by Genomex.
At some undetermined point, Adam found and recruited New Mutants Shalimar Fox, Jesse Kilmartin, Brennan Mulwray, and Emma deLauro, using them to form a group called Mutant X, whose mission was to help Adam in his quest to protect New Mutants.
